Our mission is to turn your slightly shabby furniture back into a more loved item of furniture
to be used over and over again.
RileyRestorations was a concept a while back now, when I was studying Furniture Restoration and Craftsmanship, at Brunel University in High Wycombe back in the Late 90's. Gosh only seems a flash back to those days.
This is where my love of Furniture Restoration in particular Traditional Upholstery began.
I was tutored by David James you may well have some of his books, fabulous guy.
I learnt many techniques such as the Traditional upholstery, Cabinet making and French polishing. I have since worked on a variety of project during my career but have only recently decided to go full time and enjoy life at a slower pace. As i am sure we would all love to if we could!!
This was a sorry looking chair, requiring a complete strip back to the frame and re strengthening as well as a complete traditional re-upholstery using all traditional materials and techniques. This was competed during my 2nd year.
Sofa restoration project. Consisted of full leg replacement and all upholstery materials. As well all legs being re stained and french polished. This was my final year project of my Degree.
